So this week was all about picking up the pieces from our latest kiln disaster.  All was well and good, or as good as can be expected till I went to glaze and fire these beauties.  Glazing one minute, on the ground screaming in pain the next!!

What I thought was just one very horrible ear ache turned into something altogether different.  Depression set in and a huge dose of guilt!  I’m stranded in bed because walking somehow turns into an exercise of running into walls, literally.  But I have things TO GET DONE!!!  This train of thought of course brought more gloom to my already moody ways, I had to get out of my winter ridden funky head!

Here enters my sweet supportive family!  I get a light tap on my door and in comes one of my kids, with a lump of clay in one hand and babbling something along the lines of “Mom you have have permission to get the bed dirty!”  God I love my children! So I let go of all the pain and played with some mud…or so I thought!

As you can see, my inspiration took the form of a crying skull with a flower eye.  Yep, death, pain, misery…check.  At this point, in my mending state, I swear that flower portrays the tenuous grasp of happiness that was rolling around somewhere in the depths of my mind! Creativity is NOT absent during mental stresses and horrible situations, I can honestly say I believe it is not only present, but is the catalyst to finding the light airy spring amongst all the icy chills of winter!

So was your week stress riddled and hard, or perhaps you were enjoying the airy happiness of a week that just seams to work out?  Let us know below, we love hearing about your life, both the creative and ordinary!
