I’m a crafter at heart so even if I’m not working I’m typically doing some sort of art inspired project. I’ve done cross stitch for years, and of course, have a bunch of gizmos that are associated with the craft. But amazingly enough, I have never had a floor stand. I fell in love with the Lowery floor stand but alas it wasn’t in the budget, so I started scheming to create my own. At first, I thought I’d make it out of PVC pipe as that is super cheap, but I wanted this beauty to last, so I stuck to the metal theme. With some help from my hubs and a local neighbor, I tackled building the stand you see to your left.

All said and done $54.67 is the total I spent to make this stand. I had a few things on hand such as the wood base I wanted to use, but if you don’t have those pieces, the cost shouldn’t skyrocket.

Yes, I completed building it, and I adore it. So, of course, I want to share! I have put together a pdf that outlines all the parts and steps needed to make one of these beauties yourself. I’d love to see yours if you use my guide so be sure to share here or on social media. Happy Stitching!
