Color is our LOVE, and you can get a wealth of inspiration by simply looking around.  Backyard gardens if looked at closely enough can present pops of color that ensue drool worthy responses right along with majestic landscape shots!  About a month ago I stumbled upon an image that simply took my breath away and I shared with you all a color palette I created from that image.

Now, fast forward a month and my partner finds herself doing homework for a dye class she is taking to perfect her craft.  Since this homework includes fiber and color, the task isn’t so arduous LOL.  I’m our photography guru, so off I went to snap pictures of the completed dye job.

I’m now very conscious of just how much color affects our daily lives both methodically and surprisingly!  The following fiber was dyed to obtain a gradient colorway.  Colors chosen at random, but look at how closely the fiber resembles the image from my shared palette!  Uncanny don’t you think!

Real Life Examples

And here is an example of a fiber sample that we dyed purposely choosing colors to match the photo inspiration.  No significant time elapsed in this example.  We chose the image and proceeded to dye the fiber on the same day.

Real Life Examples

As you can see our dyed fiber can be affected by conscious and unconscious color inspiration we have experienced over a random period of time.  I don’t know about you but I think that is pretty COOL!
